La Dirección Nacional Electoral de Argentina confirmó este viernes el llamado a las elecciones primarias y legislativas que se realizarán en ese paíssuramericano el 11 de agosto y 27 de octubre respectivamente.

En declaraciones a medios locales, voceros del organismo reiteraron que este año los ciudadanos de ese país elegirán 24 senadores y 127 diputados para la nueva

conformación del Parlamento Nacional.

El organismo comicial informó que el 11 de agosto tendrán lugar las elecciones Primarias Abiertas Simultáneas y Obligatorias (PASO), que decidirán las candidaturas internas para las elecciones del 27 de octubre.

A lo largo de 2013 también tendrán lugar los comicios para las legislaturas provinciales, aunque la fecha de estas serán definidas por cada gobierno provincial, acotó la institución.

Desde la sanción de la Ley 26.774, todos los argentinos mayores de 16 años (o que los cumplan hasta el 27 de octubre de 2013), tienen el derecho a votar tanto en las PASO como en las elecciones nacionales.

Para votar en las primarias y en las elecciones nacionales hay que presentarse con el documento que figura en el padrón o con una versión posterior, incluido el formato

La ratificación de las fechas de las elecciones fue realizada en cumplimiento de la ley argentina 26.571, a través del decreto 501, publicado en Boletín Oficial.

La Dirección Nacional Electoral, dependiente del Ministerio del Interior, puso a disposición de los electores y el padrón de votación, para que los ciudadanos verifiquen si figuran en la nómina de electores y si sus datos son correctos.

En este marco, el Director Nacional Electoral, Alejandro Tullio, expresó que los ciudadanos pueden consultar sus datos a través de la página web (www.padron.gob.ar).

El funcionario destacó que este año, unos 750 mil jóvenes de entre 16 y 18 años se incorporarán al proceso electoral, luego de la modificación de la Ley Electoral, el año pasado.

Tullio también dejó claro que estos jóvenes "tienen obligación de votar", aunque señaló que si no lo hacen, a diferencia del resto de los electores "no tienen que pagar multa".

En Argentina, las multas aplican para los ciudadanos que no se presenten en la votación, y que no justifiquen ante la Justicia Electoral en el plazo de los 60 días siguientes a la elección la falta de sufragio con un certificado que demuestre enfermedad o haber estado a más de 500 kilómetros de distancia del lugar de votación.
