El Ente Turismo y la Dirección General de Cultos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires junto al Centro Islámico de la República Argentina (CIRA) presentaron un nuevo programa, “Buenos Aires Halal”, que incluirá la capacitación a diferentes hoteles de la Ciudad para ofrecer todo lo que requieren los musulmanes a la hora de llegar a un destino, desde la comida con certificación halal, hasta lo necesario para las prácticas religiosas tradicionales del Islam.

Los musulmanes viajan cada vez con mayor asiduidad por el mundo y se han convertido en un segmento atractivo para el turismo a nivel internacional. El porcentaje de musulmanes a nivel mundial alcanza el 26% de la población. En Asia viven 1.005.500.000, en África llegan a 564.413.000. Argentina alberga una comunidad de aproximadamente de 800 mil musulmanes de los cuales 300 mil habitan la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.

En coincidencia con el comienzo del año 1435 para la comunidad islámica en el mundo y luego de la lectura del Generoso Corán se realizó la apertura del lanzamiento del programa “Buenos Aires Halal” en el Hotel Savoy. El Presidente del Centro Islámico de la República Argentina, Fabián Anka, manifestó el gran orgullo que la comunidad islámica siente por el país y sobre todo reivindicó la libertad religiosa con la que los musulmanes pueden moverse en la Ciudad y en Argentina animando además a todo el sector privado de las pymes a crecer en este proyecto hacia el turismo como generador de riqueza.

El Director General de Culto del Gobierno de la Ciudad, Alfredo Abriani recalcó la importancia del diálogo religioso y la apertura que posee Buenos Aires hacia todas las comunidades, sus tradiciones y sus más antiguas prácticas. Por último, el Ministro de Cultura y Presidente del Ente Turismo del Gobierno de la Ciudad, Hernán Lombardi aseguró:”Los turistas viajan motivados por la cultura en el sentido más amplio y en ello radica el atractivo de cada destino. La diversidad cultural de nuestra ciudad es la que el turista viene a buscar y esa es la razón por la que el turismo y la cultura trabajan en forma conjunta dentro del ámbito del Gobierno de la Ciudad. Celebramos este proyecto que fue pensado desde hace tiempo y hoy es un hecho concreto”. Estuvieron presentes también el Director del Departamento Halal del CIRA, Alexis Yamil El Sayer; Sheij Naser Al Muqbel, Director del Centro Cultural Rey Fahd, Sheij Muhammad Al Ruwaili Imam de la Mezquita Rey Fahd y Sheij Jihad Hammadeh, Presidente de la Asamblea de Juventudes Islamicas WAMY Brasil.

Los musulmanes gastaron aproximadamente 146.000 millones de dólares en viajes en 2012, con previsiones de llegar a los 200.000 millones de dólares en el año 2020. El programa ofrecerá la posibilidad a los hoteles de capacitar a sus profesionales y empleados en menú con certificación Halal, señalización de la orientación del rezo (Qibla) en la habitación, conocimiento básico del Islam: modales, días festivos, términos básicos, información acerca de lugares de oración /mezquitas, cocina habilitada y preparada para el ayunante (suhur: ingesta previa al ayuno / iftar: desayuno).
