Ayer la Presidenta se refirió al tema, destacando que por primera vez participará la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños (Celac), presidida pro-témpore por Cuba.

Lo expresó tras la reunión que mantuvo con el secretario general de la ONU, Ban ki-moon en el en la sede central de Naciones Unidas en Nueva York. En el encuentro, la mandataria también resaltó la "intervención" y "eficacia" tanto de la Celac como de la Unasur en la resolución de conflictos en la región en los últimos años.

"Venimos sosteniendo en el marco de la Asamblea General (de la ONU) la eficacia de esos organismos multilaterales para ser auténticos intermediarios en los conflictos y poder resolverlos con resultados positivos para todos", reflexionó. En contraste, la Presidenta volvió a marcar la necesidad de que se "reforme" el Consejo de Seguridad, "no con la óptica de sólo ampliar el número de miembros permanentes, sino realmente elegir un método de funcionamiento diferente".

Al mediodía, en el intervalo de las deliberaciones del Consejo de seguridad de la ONU, la Presidenta ofrece un almuerzo oficial en un restaurant ubicado en las cercanías de la sede de Naciones Unidas, del que participan el secretario general de la ONU, Ban Ki-moon; cancilleres, representantes de los países miembros del Consejo de Seguridad y de organizaciones regionales. Por la noche, la Presidenta da por cerrada su agenda en Naciones Unidas y emprende su regreso a Buenos Aires.
