El Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Productiva junto a la Sociedad Max Planck de Alemania inauguraron hoy en el Polo Científico Tecnológico la primera oficina de enlace para América Latina. Esta sede en Buenos Aires buscará reforzar las cooperaciones de los institutos de la Sociedad Max Planck con la región. En la apertura estuvieron presentes el Ministro de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Productiva, Dr. Lino Barañao; el embajador de la República Federal de Alemania, Bernhard Graf von Waldersee y el vicepresidente de la Sociedad Max Planck, Dr. Herbert Jäckle, entre otras autoridades.

The Ministry of Science , Technology and Innovation by the Max Planck Society in Germany today inaugurated the first Scientific Pole Technology Liaison Office for Latin America . This headquarters in Buenos Aires seek to reinforce the cooperation of the institutes of the Max Planck Society with the region. At the opening the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Lin attended Barañao , Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany , Bernhard Graf von Waldersee and Vice President of the Max Planck Society , Dr. Herbert Jäckle , among other authorities .

La oficina en el Polo Científico Tecnológico será la puerta de América Latina para la Sociedad Max Planck. La misma buscará asesorar en la formación de recursos humanos. Asimismo, tendrá como finalidad mejorar el grado de información general sobre la Sociedad Max Planck y sus institutos en toda la región; aumentar su visibilidad; ayudar a los institutos a intensificar el intercambio de científicos y respaldarlos intercediendo en favor de la ampliación de cooperaciones existentes y generar nuevas.

En este sentido, Barañao expresó: “La relación con Alemania tiene características muy peculiares. Celebramos una relación científica y de investigación y llevar a cabo proyectos en común con tanto éxito”. Asimismo, el Ministro afirmó: “Max Planck cumple con este objetivo. La vinculación tan sólida de todos estos años brinda la confianza para apoyar esta iniciativa y para construir un vínculo mucho más fuerte.”

Por su parte, el embajador de la República Federal de Alemania afirmó que “Argentina entendió que el área de ciencia y tecnología es el área donde se debe invertir para lograr beneficio propio”. Por último, el vicepresidente de la Sociedad Max Planck destacó el apoyo del Ministerio de Ciencia para la apertura de la oficina en Argentina y la relevancia de la cooperación entre ambos países. Además, Jäckle explicó la decisión de elegir a nuestro país como puerta de América Latina afirmando que la nueva oficina “será para mutuo beneficio”.

Max Planck funciona como una red de más de 80 institutos y centros de investigación en ámbitos como biología, sociología y ciencias naturales. La institución, con sede en Múnich, tiene a su cargo unos 5.000 científicos. La misma ayuda a destacados jóvenes científicos, una vez terminada su instancia investigadora, a incorporarse en alguno de sus institutos a través de la creación de un grupo de investigación en una institución de su país de origen. Esto significa una importante contribución a los países para recuperar a sus científicos altamente calificados. Junto con el Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET), la Sociedad alemana mantiene en nuestro país un instituto asociado, el IBioBA - CONICET – MPSP (Instituto de Investigación en Biomedicina de Buenos Aires – Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas – Instituto Partner de la Sociedad Max Planck). En Argentina, se crearon hasta la fecha 11 grupos asociados a diversos institutos Max Planck. En la ciudad de Rosario, por ejemplo, se conformó un grupo de investigación que se convirtió en un laboratorio Max Planck de biología estructural, química y biofísica molecular con gran éxito.

El evento contó también con la presencia del director de la oficina de enlace en Argentina, Dr. Andreas Trepte; el director del IBioBA - CONICET - MPSP, Dr. Eduardo Arzt, y la directora nacional de Relaciones Internacionales de la cartera de Ciencia, Ing. Águeda Menvielle.

El Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Productiva fue creado en diciembre de 2007 y es uno de los pocos en Latinoamérica que contempla la innovación productiva asociada a la Ciencia y la Tecnología. Su misión es orientar estos tres elementos hacia un nuevo modelo productivo que genere mayor inclusión social y una mejor calidad de vida para los argentinos.

Sus acciones se materializan en: Inversión: Para el 2014 el presupuesto destinado al sector científico- tecnológico asciende a más de 4,9 mil millones de pesos. Estímulo: Ya regresaron 1.030 científicos argentinos que se suman a los que hoy hacen ciencia en nuestro país. Capacitación: La formación de recursos humanos responde a las demandas de conocimiento que requiere una nueva matriz tecnoproductiva. Gestión: Organismos e instituciones de ciencia y tecnología forman un conjunto articulado, logrando un sistema más eficaz. Producción: Se impulsa la innovación de base tecnológica y la incorporación de la ciencia en la cultura productiva de las empresas argentinas. Integración: La transferencia de conocimiento ayuda a establecer un desarrollo equilibrado en todo el territorio nacional. Divulgación: Se promueve el quehacer científico tecnológico para acercar a la población el valor del conocimiento.
